The Dragons Are Coming - August 25th, 2012

The inaugural National Harbor Dragon Boat Regatta, being held on August 25th, is a family-oriented event for the whole community in and around the Washington DC area. The regatta celebrates Asian cultures, diversity, ethnicity, roots and history.

Dragon boat racing is an exciting team competition. An important part of the Chinese traditional calendar, dragon boat racing originated over 2,300 years ago in southern China. The dragon boat races at National Harbor are an open competition to anyone 12 years of age or older and is free to the public to watch the event.
